October Updates and Reminders...

1) All members should review the "Swim Etiquette" tab on this blog.  Note especially item 2 "Pace Times" and 4 "Rules of the Road" most importantly regarding pace time intervals and intervals between swimmers.  These are important safety measures and courtesies to our coach and fellow swimmers.  Also note that as our club grows and swim speeds improve you MAY be asked to move into another lane. We have asked Alex to co-ordinate these changes; check with him if you feel you should be moved.  Only change lanes on your own if attendance allows for temporarily balancing the "population" of the swim lanes.

2) Please consider all swimmers in your lane and perhaps take turns having different people lead each set (or part thereof depending on speed, group consensus etc.).  It is always nice to have a turn to go first and have smooth water ahead, especially for drills.  Naturally make allowance for speed adjustments...

3) We start our Saturday morning swims at Hill Park on Saturday October 7 from 8:30 am - 9:30 am.
These swims are for both morning and evening club members and continue all fall; the last one before we break for Christmas will be Saturday, December 23.  Note: There is no coach on deck for these swims but a workout is provided.

4) No Evening Club Swim on Thanksgiving (Monday October 9, 2017)


5) Always use your driving discretion when travelling to the pool.  If you are unsure about the closure status of a pool, call ahead to check. If we receive a closure notice I will do my best to send it out by email right away, so make sure I have your up to date contact information on file.  Morning club members: Sorry but I usually do not know about those early morning closures in time to let you know.Listen to K-Lite fm for City of Hamilton recreation facility closures.

Remember that pool closures may not necessarily coincide with school closures even if the facilities are physically attached to one another.

8) The "New" MSO may be looking for volunteers to help at a local swim meet this fall... They may need us to get the meet going.

10) Alex is a very busy and talented person!  His work/coaching schedule has him up for the "Most Complicated Schedule But Most Relaxed Composure" award ;)
 Many thanks to him for his patience, understanding and most of all excellent coaching.  Be sure to ask him for help if you need it!
