Our club insurance policy is carried by Masters Swimming Ontario (MSO). The insurance provider has now added a communicable disease exclusion, which means that our club members, executive and coach have no liability coverage for issues relating to COVID-19.
At this point we have decided to delay the start of the fall swim season.
As time goes forward this fall we will see how the
population fares with the virus, and hope that the Ontario government will
grant us the same privilege as BC with respect to liability exemption:
The BC government has created a ministerial order that protects amateur sport organizations and their representatives from damages resulting, directly or indirectly, from COVID-19 for amateur sports.
Other swim clubs have returned to swimming; we are cautiously optimistic that AMSC could possibly start swimming later this fall.
Current members (those enrolled in January - June 2020) will have preference for membership when we return to the pool.
Equipment owned by AMSC will be made available to club members as soon as it is released to us from the pool storage area!
